How We Got Here
Presque Isle Farm began when we moved back to Northeast Michigan with our young son to build a life around food, land and family. We started as a small vegetable farm, growing greens and produce for local and wholesale markets. Along the way, an annual tradition of pressing apples with friends turned into a much deeper fascination with cider—seeking out old apple varieties, learning from traditional cider regions and discovering just how much character could come from the right fruit, fermentation and time.
What We're Building
Today, cider has become the center of Presque Isle Farm. We make it ourselves in small batches from Michigan-grown fruit while continuing to develop our own young cider orchard. Our Alpena taproom gives us a place to share that work and has grown into something we didn't entirely anticipate: a gathering place for music, art, conversation and community. We're not trying to become enormous. We're trying to build a durable family business that lets us make cider carefully and keep doing this here in Northeast Michigan for a long time.
